Find Safe Program information. See below:

My name is Vanessa Rovig and I am the Project Director for the Find Safe program here in Minot, North Dakota.

Project Find Safe is a grant funded from The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP) Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) to assist in Reducing Injury and Death of Missing Individuals with Dementia and Developmental Disabilities Program. The Find Safe program works in conjunction with Project Lifesaver, North Dakota law enforcement, and first responders to collaborate with and support law enforcement and public safety agencies in their efforts to reduce and prevent injuries and deaths of missing individuals with dementia and developmental disabilities across the state of ND. By utilizing technology through a small transmitter that is worn on the individual that emits an individualized frequency signal so that trained law enforcement are able to locate the individual and bring them back to safety.

We just completed our training with Project Lifesaver staff and ND law enforcement in Bismarck a few weeks ago and we are reaching out to as many individuals as we can to disseminate information to the public on this program so we can enroll as many families as possible in this statewide effort to keep families in North Dakota safe.

I understand that you are the President for the ND Association for School Resource Officers so I thought you may have potential access to reach out to more families within the school system. I am trying to share more information for counselors, teachers and other support staff in the school systems as they are most familiar with the families that come in their classrooms and thought that through their school resource officer it may come across better from a figure they trust.

If you would be interested in learning more about our program and ways that we can support families who have a loved one who is at risk of wandering, please contact me by email or call @ 701 818 4063.

I am more than willing to set up a time to discuss our program further, either in person or virtually.

Thank you for your time!

Vanessa Rovig
